Back-to-School Makeup Trends 2024: Effortless Looks that Are in this Fall
Hi guys! With the new school year just around the corner, it's time to give your beauty routine a fresh update (...or back to work? Back to fall?) I dont know about you but each August I still get all the back to school feels so I wanted to write a fun post about it. This year’s fall makeup trends are all about keeping things natural and effortless, with a splash of fun. I have definitely been leaning in this direction lately with more natural makeup feels! Let’s dive in!
1. Glow Like a Pro
Forget heavy foundations—this year’s all about that dewy, glowing skin. Think tinted moisturizers and highlighters for a fresh, radiant finish that looks as if you’ve just had a great night’s sleep. Achieve that lit-from-within glow and let your natural beauty shine! My favorite is a tinted sunscreen from La Roche Possay, I will link it here!
2. Brows on Point
Soft, natural brows are trending in 2024. Brush them up and define them lightly for a look that’s effortlessly chic. Use brow gels and pencils that match your natural hair color to keep things subtle yet polished. I use Benefit Gimme Brows and I have for about 4 years, I love it!
3. Subtle Eye Magic
Keep your eye makeup minimal yet stunning. Soft eyeshadows in peach, taupe, or light pink create a lovely wash of color. Skip the heavy eyeliner and focus on curling your lashes and applying a coat or two of mascara for a natural lift and definition. I am not a huge eyeshadow person, sometimes I joke that I missed the eyeshadow class when it comes to learning girl things haha! This eyeshadow pallet is really pretty and has tons of great reviews!
4. Pop of Color
Ready for a bit of fun for a night out or a little something extra for your day? Colorful eyeliner is making a major comeback! Shades like electric blue, vibrant green, and playful purple can be added as a thin line along your upper lash line. It’s a great way to add a pop of personality to your look. NYX has a ton of fun colors and I really like the brand! I will link them here, plus they are very affordable!
5. Tinted Lips, Happy Vibes
Swap out those matte lipsticks for tinted lip balms and glosses. They offer just the right amount of color while keeping your lips hydrated and kissably soft. Go for shades that enhance your natural lip color for a fresh, effortless look. There are a few different kinds that I like to use! The first is from Tarte, it’s the Maracuja Juicy Lips- you really can’t go wrong with the shade, this link is a pack of 4! Another brand that I like is the Summer Friday’s lip butter balm, I have three shades and love them all! I have Poppy, Vanilla and Sweet Mint! Lastly, I like the brand Revlon Lip Gloss, I have the shades Snow Pink and Sandstorm. All of these will give just a touch of shine but also color!
6. Blush for the Eyes
Who says blush is just for your cheeks? Apply a bit of blush as eyeshadow for a cohesive and playful pop of color. It’s a versatile trend that ties your whole look together beautifully. I have had the same favorite blush for about 2 years now and it is the Rare Beauty Blush in the shade Bliss! It is a liquid blush and would blend perfectly as an eyeshadow!
